Meet Sonny!

My love for cooking started when I was a kid, inspired by my grandfather, Billy L. Woods.

I'd watch him feed the whole neighborhood—he was a contractor for local ranchers and farmers, but his real gift was bringing people together through food.

I also spent time in the kitchen with both of my grandmothers, learning their recipes and traditions. My father, Loreace, was an incredible cook too, and that passion for good food stayed with me.

I knew I wanted to carry on what my family started, so I opened a BBQ restaurant. My cousin Charles and I launched our first spot back in 1989 in Mountain Park Ranch—what is now known as Ahwatukee. It quickly became the number one BBQ restaurant in the area, and we were also known for having the best wings in Arizona.

After some time, I felt the pull to strike out on my own. That's when I got into catering, and I haven't looked back since. It turned out to be the best decision I could've made. I'm beyond grateful for the support I've received from friends, family, and the community. That support has shaped who I am today.

As an Arizona native, I want to thank everyone who's been part of this journey. I wouldn't be here without you.
